Soccer in the United States

The youth soccer in the United States can be seen very differently to any place in the world. In the united States there’s no one direct federation overseeing the whole a number of leagues. On the other hand there are several federations overseeing a giant amount of leagues at different varying levels.

With US soccer federation or USSF having their own league called the US Development Academy. Then There is US Club Soccer that has several different leagues that vary in different levels. Then as for US Youth Soccer there are several leagues among different state federations that vary in level.

Development of Players in USA Vs Spain

In the two countries there are very contrasting views of how to develop a player. As for the United States many of the kids begin playing many other sports along with soccer and as for Spain it is seen as the contrary where they’re put in a soccer team as a child and they’re propelled into thinking all about the sport 24/7.

As they begin to mature in the United States they are being pushed to be the biggest, fastest, and strongest before technical skills are really being emphasized. As for Spain they’re taught from day 1 with the ball at their feet and the progression of being a athlete will come along with the technical skills in due time.

Also many of the teams in Spain have a professional team connected with their youth teams which propels a certain style of play to be created and the skills to be really honed in on. Yet, in the United States most of the clubs have no connection to a pro team except for the MLS academies and a few USL academies, while most of if not all the teams in Spain somehow one way or another have their academy connected to their 1st team.

Soccer in Spain

In Spain the way the governing bodies run their leagues are much different to that of the United States.

As for the governing bodies each State/region has their own federation that reports to the head federation of spain.

The leagues in each region run almost as the professional leagues do with a promotion relegation system. The leagues are also run in the way that they are more centered around how the professional game is run with time, number of substitutions, duration of season, and so on and so forth.

The leagues are also Structured in around 10 month seasons to allow for the teams to play a more professional schedule.
